Southern Missouri Reentry, LLC

Southern Missouri Reentry, LLC was founded by Dismas House of St. Louis to carry-on the original mission of providing successful second chances to justice-involved individuals by Father Charles Clark. Southern Missouri Reentry will build upon the 63-year legacy instilled by Dismas House by creating a custom-equipped reentry center to be operated by a dedicated team, who believes everyone deserves the opportunity of second chance to achieve the American dream.

Southern Missouri Reentry will provide around-the-clock monitoring by leveraging the latest technology. The residential reentry facility is staffed 24 hours a day to monitor in-house and home confinement clients, as well as to provide the needed support and programs to successfully reunite clients back into their home community.

Southern Missouri Reentry is actively working with community leaders in St. Francois and neighboring counties to include the needs of the local area into the reentry program and facility. In addition, upon award, Southern Missouri Reentry will formalize the Community Relations Board to expand community representation with an effort to solicit ongoing input regarding the reentry program that services the community.

What is a residential reentry center (RRC)?
  • The BOP contracts with residential reentry centers (RRC’s), also known as halfway houses, to provide assistance to inmates who are nearing release.
  • RRCs provide a safe, structured, supervised environment, as well as employment counseling, job placement, financial management assistance, and other programs and services.
  • RRCs help inmates gradually rebuild their ties to the community and facilitate supervising ex-offenders’ activities during this readjustment phase.
  • RRC’s are not jails or prisons. Clients are monitored closely and must maintain pre-arranged and approved schedules, which include working outside the RRC and visiting family and loved ones.
Where do your clients come from?
  • The Bureau of Prisons and U.S. Courts refer all clients to the residential reentry center.
  • Clients are placed in an RRC that is the closest to their release address.
What services will Southern Missouri Reentry, LLC provide?
The primary objective of SMR, LLC is to properly prepare ex-offenders for their return to a free society where they can live as productive, law-abiding citizens.

How long do clients stay at the RRC?

The length of stay in the RRC program varies for each client and is determined by the referring authority (BOP or US Courts)
